Yes, you should keep going... I had just the same thought this morning as I past our rose garden on campus. Our are the dark red with eternal scent. If I could only snaggle Angel the photographer to take a pic.
It's rainy and depressing here...for days here in Canada so yes, you should keep going, bring on any gorgeous flowers to remind me that April showers do bring May flowers. Beautiful image by Carla Coulson....hmmmm....will we see this photo again?
YES! Keep going. Cecile Brunner was the name of my shop! I had planted one at my home and it completely took over my life ....I figured the shop would do the same. It was a great private joke. Especially when some slick salesman would say "Hey ! Is Cecile in? "
Oooo I have one of these Cecile Brunners and the perfume that it wears is unmatched by any flower (including other roses) in the world. It's so old fashioned and innocent and just plain lovely. Mine is in bloom, so yours can't be far behind! Keep going! Please! :) xo Isa
Go Vicki! I have the brownest of thumbs, and torrential rain has just shredded any blooms that were determinedly hanging on for dear life in my garden. Beautiful, beautiful!
Cecil Brunner were my darling Mum's absolute favourite roses Vicki. I can still see her so clearly, fussing over her 'children' in the back garden at our old family home. They grew over the ancient corrugated iron shed & absolutely thrived in the sunny position. Thank you for letting me relive a long forgotten but very special memory. Millie ^_^
I'm so envious of your blooming blooms! We've had several late freezes which seem to nip our buds (especially my yellow climbing) . I rather doubt they'll have the strength to try again. Keep going for all of us who will only have YOUR blooms this year !
Hi Vicki...many thanks for your lovely birthday greeting, I have had a great birthday lasting 4 days!!! Beautiful blooms, we had cecile brunner back on our small acres, it is just lovely especially when all out, just a mass of pink. Enjoy them all ♥x
Lovely! I wish I could smell them! Thanks for visiting and reading my silly poem. I don't know why David couldn't have picked one of the better ones ... oh, yes I do! Because he's David! ;)
Definitely keep going. My wait will be longer and riskier. Perhaps I may not even see any bloom at all. I planted two plants of Peonies in two pots for my deck. Could you imagine that? It needs a lot of courage to do this. Not only will I live with two empty pots for God knows how long but I may not even get anything out of it. Well I don't mind the risk. It's so worth it.
Love your pics of flowers , they look lovely. Your roses are gorgeous . From may 8th to 17 th we are in a antiques exhibition in le Tholonet ( near by aix) if you want to come tell me , I will send you invitation. Bisous
Climbing roses are my favorite too...I wish you lots and lots of blooms this year!
