in my travels around sydney this week i have discovered a definite decorating style - 'aussie beach chic'. many small interior design-style shops have opened in the suburbs of sydney that are full of gorgeous and quirky home-wares to suit the casual australian beach lifestyle.
there is a mixture of old and new with a great retro feel,
lots of candles, lanterns and both Asian and Indian artifacts
this French farmhouse table looks fab with the wooden bowls and glass jars of coral
i love the stone colour of the Buddha displayed with the grey patterned fabric cushions, oversized lampshades and the white earthenware vases
this window display caught my eye - more for the chinese style shelving than the selection of objects
and this little boutique, with it's fire engine red door, planter box and shade awning was just the cutest
I can see some of those finds fitting in here on the coast ... and Coco Red is soooo cute...hope you enjoyed Cup Day ... Dzintra
ReplyDeleteLove aussie beach chic. That last shop is very cute! Amanda x
ReplyDeleteooooh, more places to add to my list to visit when I'm next in Sydney - thanks Vicki! xx
ReplyDeletewhat a beautifu, chic little shop! love your photos!
ReplyDeletethose pantone mugs are HUGE. I never realized that! love the red door. So elizabeth arden 70s {I know that's not the intent, but it makes me love it more}
ReplyDeleteI am always amazed at how I can't find one particular style to call my own. My favorite style is the informal french country in its scaled down version but also find myself attracted to other styles as well. I guess you could say I'm eclectic in my taste and love putting all sorts of things together. It makes for a less informal and stuffy look.
ReplyDeleteIf I had passed the Coco Red shop I would HAVE had to go in and check it out!
