Sunday morning in Paris seemed to be all about the out and about. The weather was less than sparkling but that didn't stop the Parisians from enjoying the great outdoors. As they strolled, I snapped... I couldn't stop... for all the reasons I mentioned yesterday... The Parisian people watching is definitely addictive... and interestingly they don't seem to mind tourists with cameras clicking away at what must seem to them to be very mundane... I guess by now they are quite accustomed to being the centre of attention... xv
Heartstopping Vicki! I was there in my heart last Sunday... reminiscing. Beautiful photos. Beautiful! A-M xx

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos Vicki. I like how they are all holding hands. XO
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteThe black and white images make these pictures timeless...other than the jacket the woman in the first image is wearing this could be 1940 as easily as it is 2011!

Dimanche à Jardins du Luxembourg est magnifique! I never ever tire of strolling and snapping.

Oh, how I wish I could spirit myself over to Paris for a little while!
ReplyDeleteTrès bon!
Au revoir, ma cherie!
So beautiful. The Jardin du Luxembourg is one of my favorite places in the world -- I can't think of a better place to people watch or get lost in your own thoughts. Thanks for taking me there this morning!
ReplyDeleteIt's so true: even the most mundane of tasks seems romantic in the beauty of a Parisian backdrop. Lovely photos, Vicki!

Always lovely to return to le Jardin du Luxembourg. So cool: As of this summer, I have a set of these great Fermob chairs on my American deck! I can now sit in them, close my eyes, and pretend I am there, on the Left Bank, listening to the children's laughter... Great shots, Vicki. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteWhen my son was in school at Parsons/Paris he took so many black/white photos to get his composition perfected. Yours remind me of his so much. Simply beautiful.
ReplyDeleteEach day I enjoy your blog, feel as though I've immersed myself into the French lifestyle, and then go on my way. Shame on me for not commenting more often! Due to time I've had to narrow my very long blog list over the past 2 years down to just a handful, and yours is at the top of the list. Thank you for your beautiful photography and your eloquent writing. (p.s. I've only been to Paris once, for only 2 days, and had no idea where to go...so, we plopped ourselves down at every cafe we could find and people watched! ;-) )
ReplyDeletecan't wait to arrive and be a part of it all...lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Vicki and I love seeing the hand-holding and closeness of the visitors!

Hi Vicki, I love your photos. I'm reminded of how Europeans (especially the French, Italians and Spanish) hold hands and arms and touch as they stroll and pass the day. Here in So. California intimacy so freely offered and accepted is not the norm. The intimacy of a simple touch or kisses reminds me of the truth of oneness. Have a wonderful balance of the week. Mary
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful your images + scenes of Paris, YES. Thank you for sharing. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteNothing is mundane in Paris. I once stopped to watch a Parisian waiter sweep the sidewalk in front of a cafe and was nearly brought to tears by the magic of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - even better in black and white!
ReplyDeletePS Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving lovely comment!

ReplyDeleteI love the mood you have captured here...so gentle and just on the edge of winter, but everyone out and well dressed...beautiful.
I stay in an apartment close to the Jardin du Luxembourg--and especially love it in all seasons, especially summer.
On Sunday afternoons, all the of families are there, with little children on ponies, the old men playing boule, people eating ARTISAN ice creams (so good), and there is a crepes stand, you can visit the bee hives, and the espaliered apple and pear trees have their fruits 'in a bottle'...go and check it out.
I blogged about 'Sunday Afternoon in the Jardin du Luxembourg'...on THE STYLE SALONISTE.
cheers, DIANE
