She is petite, beautiful and feminine... Audrey Tautou. Her angelic looks are the kind that I see when I picture a French girl... the doe eyes, the plump and well defined lips, the fine features and the pixie haircut... Audrey Tautou is the French girl of our imagination... From the eccentric 'Amelie' to the stylish 'Coco'... somehow she effortlessly manages to blur the edges and change characters in her film work...
Her latest movie Beautiful Lies is adorable... I loved every minute of it... Funny and romantic.. I didn't want it to end... If this week's Thanksgiving preparations are taking their toll and you need a little time out then indulge yourself and watch this delightful French rom com... I can't wait to watch it again...
If more relaxation of the French kind is required and one movie won't do it then I suggest Amelie... it's always a wonderful watch... or Coco before Chanel... Audrey Tautou is not only fabulous as a young Coco Chanel but the visuals in this film are superb. If you haven't seen Priceless... then you are in for another treat... a cute romance that plays out amongst the glamour of the Côte d'Azur... xv
I find her utterly adorable!
ReplyDeleteOh love movie tips, I haven't seen Lies or Priceless, they sound fab.

Have not seen these but am making a note on my to do list. She is stunning isn't she?
ReplyDeleteSon#4 our almost-30 party animal & heartbreaker of many a gorgeous leggy blonde, left me speechless recently. 'Mum I'm going to call my first daughter Amelie, I loved that movie sooooooo much!' Just when you think you know them, they drop you from a great height. Audrey is one amazing chick to have that sort of effect on our boy.

Ooh! I hadn't seen Beautiful Lies--it looked too cheesy from the cover. I loved Priceless and all the rest so thank you for the rental rec--now I just have to convince my better half! :)
ReplyDeleteI bought this recently and enjoyed it very much. Audrey Tatou is amazing.I was tipped as rivalling Amelie and good though it was it was not a patch on Amelie. I think that was a very special film. However I loved the film, great acting from all the cast. lol Angela
ReplyDeleteAmelie is the perfect combination of elegance and quirkiness. I've loved Amelia, Priceless, and Coco and am looking forward to Beautiful Lies! Thanks for tip!
ReplyDeleteI just watched Coco last night....she was fantastic!
ReplyDeleteShe certainly is a beauty. So natural and so gracious in an interview I saw with her on BBC breakfast. Not seen Priceless, but its on my list.
ReplyDeleteI most definitely can use a dose of lighthearted fun. Thanks for the tip Vicki!
ReplyDeleteBonjour Vicki. I enjoyed Beautiful Lies, but it is not my favorite Audrey Tautou. Have you seen "He Loves Me; He Loves me not" ? Audrey was almost unknown when she did it. It's very quirky and surprising. I also love her in the excellent "l'Auberge Espagnole" and the sequel, "Russian Dolls" with a fav French actor, Romain Duris. Bonne journée! Veronique
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicki. I appreciate film recommendations and actually need them because I see things way too long after their release. This has to stop! But it is better than never seeing them.

OH...Such a grand suggestion! I adore Audrey Tautou-The jet lag has me up at all hours. Happy Thanksgiving. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteLike Audrey Hepburn, I adore how she uses her lovliness. Coco Before Chanel ... one of my favorite "comfort movies". Hugs to you, Lisa
ReplyDeleteI picture the exact same look when I think of a french girl. Audrey Tatou is just gorgeous. Also your friend in your first book reminds me of this as well. Was it Valerie or Veronica? Not sure. But she looked effortlessly chic and just as gorgeous. Leahx
ReplyDeleteShe is petite, beautiful and feminine... Audrey Tautou.
ReplyDeleteExquisite in every way - not unlike Audrey Hepburn.
Francesca
please, i want to go break all the mirrors in my house.
ReplyDeleteAmelie is one of my favorite movies. She (Audrey) reminds me of another Audrey from another time. I loved her quirky french style in Amelie. I believe she starred in the French film "A Very long Engagement" as well. She is gorgeous and sweet at the same time. Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteThere is nowhere to hide with a haircut like that ~ she is adorable, isn't she! I have a lot of movies to catch up on during the holidays...
ReplyDeleteI love her! Thanks for the new film tip, can't wait to see it! Have seen the others you mention and agree--they are just delightful!

Life, the food, the look, the fashion and style all seem so agreeable.
I adore Audrey....and all of the films she has had a role in.

I saw Beautiful Lies recently too and am in love in Audrey. She's just adorable and such a gifted actress. Watching her also gives me motivation to say non to fattening foods. Talk about tiny!
ReplyDeleteI saw Amelie and Coco before Chanel but missed Priceless. And looking forward to Beautiful Lies. Thank you for the recommendation. A great idea for a holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteKirsten

ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous. Reminds me of Audrey Hepburn, in a French sort of way ;)
ReplyDeleteshe is a real beauty....
ReplyDeletewith more than a little bit of 'just darling' thrown in.
she what julia roberts wishes she were.
xxx thanks for the comment xx
Thank you for this tip. I've just ordered Beautiful Lies on your recommendation!
ReplyDeleteI love Priceless...it's the French equivalent of A Breakfast at Tiffany's - but better!
I do agree Vicki ! Audrey is the typical french girl ! An other actress we appreciate a lot and who represents the french woman very well, is Nathalie Baye !
ReplyDeleteAudrey Tautou is one of my favorite actresses and the film Amélie is my number one favorite film, which was the inspirations for our daughter's name...Thank you for sharing this new film; I'll be sure to watch soon!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I agree-Audrey Tautou does seem to embody the look of a une coquette parsienne.
Mandy
Audrey is gorgeous. I would love to look like her. I enjoy her movies.
