Back in Michigan I had 3 varieties in the yards & it was always the highlight of my day just to brush by & crush a trace in my hand. Yours are perfection. A lovely lavender laced weekend to you.
I am happy too Vicki! Thank you for being the first person to welcome me to my new Blog. You are always so gracious - it is so special to me that the first comment was Vicki! Enjoy your weekend! xx
How gorgeous! I keep planting lavender, only to have it succumb after a few years -- or one hard winter. We just haven't the right climate. But I continue to try different varieties and different spots in my garden. The heavenly smell . . .!
This made me gasp! I love lavender the most - I had it in California and would crunch handfulls and breathe deeply. My children all know - just buy her lavender.....I would gift friends with lavender wands made with satin ribbons......oh, you've made my day thank you
if you tell me that that lavender lovliness is yours i will reach thru this computer screen and throttle you!!! let me tell you what you need to do (this is my authoritative voice)- you need to assemble a bloggers retreat at your house. you know a few of your favorite blogger friends (that being me for one :) all getting together to share in your vision of provence. i can cook up a storm all the while doleing out charming quips left and right.. we will all be good and sauced by noon on some good ole bandol rose..who else is with me??
I am planning my extended stay 40th birthday trip to France and although my birthday isn't in June, I think that it might be the month I need to go... What a gorgeous time of year! Bon weekend, xo
I love Lavender, the fragrance, the blossoms, they way the grow in southern soil and thrive! Fields of Lavender, the essence of summer. Have a sunny weekend! XX Victoria
I love the smell of lavender. It's has such a fresh scent, and it's beautiful. Your lavender looks gorgeous under the silver leaves of those olive trees. Happy weekend, Vicki.
Not sure how I found your blog, but I'm loving it. Spent a month last year in San Sebastian and found my way frequently over to St. Jean de Luz - it'd be my dream to live there on a small "farm" where my kitchen would be filled with wooing smells and surrounded by family and an enterouage of friends - new and old.
Talk about 'Read this & weep' Vicki! I printed this post out & have just walked outside in the freezing cold wind & rain & shown it my one scungey, straggly poor excuse for a lavender. 'This is what you should look like, now get to it, or else!' I said. I could see it literally shaking in it's roots!
Yours are just exquisite, they really are a Sea of Lavender. What pleasure they must be giving you, sorry I can't say the same for mine. Millie ^_^
It certainly is a happy weekend...I just woke up on this Saturday morning and the clock has struck NOON! I wish I could blame it on the intoxicating lavender outside my door, but no such luck. It was something French though, that caused my sleepiness. It came in a bottle and had a cork! Happy weekend, indeed! Catherine xx
There isn't anyone who does covet the lavender in the South of France. It's not as easy to grow here in New England!!!! So we'll just have to satisfied with your beautiful pictures!!! Sigh..... Carole

The weekend is almost over and I'm just now catching up. I hope you had a happy weekend. I love the scent of lavender and have been searching for it to make lavender filled bags.
Just yesterday I and my husband went to the farmers market, and passed a table displayed with home made lavender body soaps..just to sweet to resist. Not only do they smell wonderious they look pretty too. Enjoy your week end.
It's winter in Brazil now, but Brazilian winter where I live is quite lavendorous.... (does this word exist?)I read somewhere in the comments about your book. Can you tell me more about it? Have a happy week, too! adriana
What a wonderful image...lavender fields are the essence of Provence and are what I miss most about France.I try to bring back my summers growing up in Eze Village, by surrounding my house in Connecticut with lavender, thyme and rosemary.Alas, 30 days of non stop rain have turned my gardens into mudfieds....
I love lavender. I wash all my clothes and bedding in lavender:) smells so sweet I hope to grow some in my back yard, once I get the jungle under control.
Oh such a beautiful sight and I can imagine the scent. Recently I bought lavender seeds and I'm going to try to grow some indoors. I hope it works! ; )
My lavender has perished, but lucky for me, there is a little day spa next to my office and I pilfer flowers while they bloom and sniff them when things get tense at work...
