This is the week to think about
with Valentine's Day on the way, xv.
P.S A little bit of Wikipedia:
'Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.'

Le jour de Valentine heureux, Miss Kris
I am not usually a big fan of red but you have just made a beautiful case for it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful spread on Red! Love all the different things you picked out. It's also interesting to note some of the different Valentine's day rituals that have evolved around the world.
ReplyDeleteYou know in Japan, on Valentine's day they like to make hand-made chocolate. The women are supposed to give the men their chocolates on Valentine's day and 1 month later on "White Day", the men give chocolates back to the woman. The Koreans have a subsequent month after that where the people who didn't receive any chocolates get together to commiserate on "Black Day." I think I'll put this in my post on Friday.
Cheers and Happy Valentine's Day Vicki!

ReplyDeleteHow fun, Vickie! I enjoyed the red tour; red carpet, red apple, red roses. My husband's birthday is on Valentines Day so we always celebrate. Usually, he has to give presents for the holiday, too. I don't feel bad because my birthday is sometimes on Thanksgiving, which means I usually prepare a special meal...cook all day! <3

ReplyDeleteOh dear Vicki - this post has caused a Millie moment! On my first 'date' with MOTH I wore a gorgeous little red mini with spaghetti straps & he loved it. A couple of years later we had a bit of a spat & in a moment of madness I tossed the gorgeous dress into a plastic bag & threw it in our local Vinnies bin!!!
ReplyDeleteTo this day he still doesn't know what I did & still asks about the famous (infamous!) red dress. I can't stall him forever with my vague answers to its whereabouts, but I really hope whoever has it now is enjoying it big-time!
