The King of black and white, of ruffles and bows, of tweed and lace...

Enjoy the show
thank you content coutorture for the images

and at the same time I want to say

actually a huge thank you is in order to CynthiaClaudia and La Mom for so generously giving French Essence (and that means me) a 'fabulous' award. Their blogs are a joy to visit and never cease to inspire - Cynthia is so clever with her written word from Puerto Rico, Claudia never sits still and takes us with her as she travels the world and La Mom has the best sense of humour as she writes about life in Paris. At the same time as thanking these fabulous girls for thinking of me, it is my job to think of ten other 'fabulous' bloggers and pass along this award...

These are the bloggers - some of whom I know and others that I would like to get to know,

For The Love of a House

Congratulations - your blogs are fabulous, xv.

PS - you know the drill.....
link me and then link the ten blogs you choose and post the award

  10. Vicki, thank you for the award. I'm so glad you've stopped by Canyon Wren Cottage, because now I know about your blog.

  11. Oh dear, I so love those heels with the black fu-fu-fluff on the back...and the long waisted dresses with ruffled layers the tan-ish one the best. Oh, I know how important it is to know my preferences! :-) I can't help sharing them anyway!

I feel as though I must thank you for accepting the award. I'm enjoying undergoing your fabulous frenchification here at Vicki's French Essence blog.

As far as styles go, you know I can love something but sometimes it's just not "suitable", what with the figure concerns and all...:-> Also, I appreciate your reading my insights...I can think of no greater complement than to give my Oasis a little elegant visit.
Thanks for the blog recommendations, I know Catherine's fabulous so I'm off to check out the new-to me blogs.

Bon Vie en avatar <3 (Does that make any sense? Have a good life transformation? :-) I'm trying to use your French building words on the sidebar!---however, I don't know the grammar! Big secret.)

  28. Global Financial Crisis? I say 'be off' to those 3 words of gloom & doom & cheers & hooray to the amazing Karl L.! Thank you Vicki for this brief escape into the beauty & wonder of Chanel couture.

All this black & white reminds me of the indomitable Sheila Scotter of Vogue Australia. Miss S. only ever wore black or white or combo. of both - a true signature style. I reckon she'd be in her late eighties if she's still going - & no doubt terrorising the staff @ her Nursing home with that withering stare & acid tongue!

  30. Vicki - I Adore this Post! Black and white is ever so classic and I found the clear shoes quite interesting. The photo towards the end that showed the fashion shoot was on the street with the spectators on either side really had "wow" factor!

    Cheers,
    Karen O.
