Today I want to start decorating for Easter... Easter is particularly festive in France... it's spring... generally the sun is shining (although not today) and tulips and chocolates are out in abundance... When I think of decorating the house for Easter I always imagine tulips... tulips and lots of colourful eggs... bowls and baskets everywhere... some with shiny wrappers... the very edible kind... and some that are made of pâpier maché to be purely decorative... I am in the mood to pretty up the house... and get ready for the Easter bunny...
If you are in a holiday frame of mind here are some Easter ideas that I love...
A Metal Hen Family to take pride of place in the centre of the table... or a pair for each end... I have something very similar and decorate with flowers and eggs around them...
Pâpier Maché Eggs... placed on the table as a little surprise for each guest...
Hand Painted Wooden Eggs... in bowls or for the table... or as a gift for those who don't do chocolate...
More Wooden Eggs... for that old fashioned, traditional feel...
Chocolate Easter eggs by the bowl....
Chenille Chickens to liven up the table or pop on an Easter bonnet...
An Easter Basket Stamp... to personalise a gift card...
Easter Cookie Cutters... if you feel like baking... or a cute hostess gift...
Porcelain Egg Cartons... Imagine these lined along the table with some hand painted or chocolate eggs... fun, don't you think?
Faberge Petite Crystal Egg... the non-chocolate egg...
And some Easter eye candy...
Decorating Eggs... how to paint your own eggs for that individual touch...
To put you in the Easter mood... a Fabergé mystery romp for your Kindle
Royal Fabergé... the ultimate when it comes to the egg...
I hope these ideas help put you in the Easter frame of mind... they work for me... xv
Il ne faut pas désespérer... le beau temps doit revenir dès demain... merci pour toutes ces idée de décoration.
ReplyDeleteJe vous souhaite de très joyeuses fêtes pascales...
Gros bisous
Getting to the Easter mood!

What a lovely list of Easter ideas. I've finally got my Eatser decorations out - the painted eggs I bought when we lived in Hungary, the cute little bunnies I've picked up over the years, and the vintage egg holders ready for the eggs the kids are painting tomorrow. I would love to have some tulips too but somehow it seems a bit wrong here in the Australian with the trees starting to ear thier autumn colours. Christmas and Easter are the two times in the year when I most feel the pull of my English heritage.

Yeah....I need to get into that frame of mind...thanks for the inspiration!...And now I also want a soft boiled egg!
ReplyDeleteBowls of shiny wrapped easter eggs are so pretty....but oh so tempting!!! It's a very hard time of year for a chocoholic!
ReplyDeleteDear Vicki, thank you so much for the congratulations. I'm just really, really so excited. Not only is it a dream come true to meet Carla and experience her working so closely but also it is so wonderful for my current book as far as research goes. I'm not the most comfortable person in being photographed and so I'm going out of my comfort zone but it is really a fabulous opportunity. I shall have to take all my books along for her to sign! xx
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy it's spring...now if I can only get over the spring fever that has me wanting to sit in the shade of a tree, with book and relax all day!
Enjoy your day!
Karen
Have a very Happy Easter!

There is nothing better than Easter in France. I was lucky to have experienced it for three years.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I posted the paper mache eggs I made. One was French blue. Stop by.

I am not decorating this year for Easter but these links made me so happy! They brought back wonderful memories from when I was little. My parents always made such a fuss and it was usually new dress time too. Plus those frilly little anklet socks!
ReplyDeleteYou really have gotten me in the mood!
