what's on this girl's wish list for christmas...

Australian illustrator extraordinaire, Shell Sheree, asked me for my Christmas wish list... Truthfully, the chance to have my heart's desire pencilled in such a beautiful way by a favourite artist was gift enough... but Shell did ask... so this is what I chose...

My wish lists don't change much over the years... I love to stock up on Gardenia passion, keep our farmhouse scented with 'Noel' and add a new pair of Converse to my growing collection... I would like a pair of gumboots this year... always handy for those inclement days and I thought a French style parasol would set them off rather prettily. Picnics are on my 'do more' list for next year so I fancied a wicker basket with all the bits... maybe an alpaca throw to go with that too... now I am getting greedy...  but as it's a wish list... For my fashion fix I am crossing fingers that Santa is cool enough to source, 'Vogue: The Covers' for me and 'One Hundred Flowers' for my floral fantasies... I forgot... to complete my French style wardrobe I would L-O-V-E the men's size Casio G-Shock wrist watch... Are you reading Santa... aka Mr FF...

I am so happy to be sending one of my chosen Christmas decorations to Amy from Notes of Amy and to Pat Reshen from NYC... Please email me at vicki@vickiarcher.com with your postal details so I can send them on their way... More Christmas decorations coming to you early next week so please keep doing what you do so well... comment, email, subscribe, tweet or like... that's how we get to know each other... In the meantime... Don't forget to visit Shell and tell her how much I adore her illustrations...

Happy first weekend in December from me and may the decorating begin... xv

  14. Yay! Hooray! I can't wait to receive the ornament, Vicki. And thank you so much.

I love the wish list. If I drew mine, it would have long, long legwarmers (soft cotton, not wool), a giant bottle of Chanel No5 Eau Premiere, some Nun Finer caramels (made by nuns in Iowa, I'm not kidding) and a medieval harp.

Maybe I will draw mine this weekend...what a fun project!

  19. What a fun way to feature your "wishes". It would be fun to have one of these each year to remember the holiday and maybe some of the subtle changes in our wish list. Love the lead on the watch, I've been searching for a man's watch for fun.

Love the idea of more picnics too. Pendleton has a great throw that comes with its own leather carrying straps.
Great first couple of days of December, Vicki!

  35. I found Gardenia Passion over 20 years ago in the New York Barney' and they also, had a store in Westport, Ct, before the Pressman's lost the business to the Japan Group that they took one to help grow their business.. I know that's a lot of info, to tell you that I love your blog and I too, think an illustration in it's self would be a great gift, and I hop that Mr.FF sees this and put's that watch under the tree in an equally beautiful wrapping.... Enjoy your holidays in France...

  36. -a comment unrelated to your post. I read your books way back when we were thinking of making the move across the water to France. Funny to find your blog through a totally unrelated search. I read a newspaper article at about the time we were about to take the risk and move lock stock and barrel to France which said - "You only regret what you haven't done" - So we took the risk and haven't of course regretted anything! I'm looking forward to reading your posts
