This week is a working week in Provence... styling and photographing images... It has not been without it's challenges... rain... and more and more rain has made the locations of our shoot difficult. Normally Carla and I are spoilt... the sun shines and the house is one big studio... but not to be defeated... we found our little corner of light...
After I style up and Carla is shooting I love to take photographs from the sidelines of the works in progress... These cups that I found in our local brocante and these dried hydrangeas from the garden made a pretty pair... This week we are all about creating the still life... shapes, colours, patterns, foliage and flowers.... xv

ReplyDeleteLove this image, Vicky! Very charming.
ReplyDeleteThe cups remind me on ´Minton´, are they English?
As much as we need the rain this year...but all in 'one go' is just too much!
Best wishes for a few dry and sunny days,
karin
I love the cups!
ReplyDeleteWhy can I never find such treasures?
That's so lovely! I've always grown flowers in teacups. The kids think I'm mad, but now I can tell them I'm artistic!
ReplyDeleteOh! lovely composition of cups;) I like your French blog!
ReplyDeleteVicki, those teacups are soooo pretty,I love them and the colours in the dried hydrangeas is lovely.x
ReplyDeletelovely vicki...:)x
ReplyDeleteCarla and you make a dynamic duo. I love your creations.
ReplyDeletelovely styling, lovely picture! I like the shadows cast by the cups on the table cloth. Colours are very pleasant. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteI hope there is the third book by two of you coming. Cannot wait ;)
ReplyDeleteThose cups are to die for. Seriously. My idea of heaven!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful..this simple image captures the essence of Provence. I hope the rain is treating you well, I came back yesterday from France and my umbrella did not live me for a moment...
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, Will you be doing a riff on the 17th c. Nature Morte? But please, no dead rabbits. Good luck with the weather. Mary
ReplyDeleteWhat an enchanting corner... I must try this with my mom's collection of tea cups. I gather you are working on your next book then Vicki.. I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteBonjour Vicki. Well, I am sure you and Carla overcame challenges and took quite an amazing selection of still life shots. I love the color of the hydrangeas paired with the beautiful old cups. Will you be sharing some shots soon? Bonne fin de journée. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteThat's just lovely. Those cups are a wonderful find.

Wow ... absolutely gorgeous. And a great idea. I may have to try that at home.
ReplyDeleteSo very sweet! I love the teacups! *sigh* :)
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteEverything you touch (even simple tea cups and a few flowers) turns to visual gold!
I'm inspired daily!
As I've said before, your exercises in restraint enchant me. In the cases of your exquisite photographs less really is more. Sending love, V...
ReplyDeleteThe photo is very nice, I would tend to turn one cup on the side or something. But I love the pattern and the flowers are a great sidebar. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely divine. I wish I could watch you and Carla at work! Can't wait to see all you're doing, what's the new book? xoc
ReplyDeleteA little 'insignificant' like a scalloped edge teacup can make all seem right...reminding me that everything matters. Beautiful as always...
ReplyDeleteit looks really lovely!:)
ReplyDeleteOh, I am lusting after those cups and saucers! My, how beautiful. If only I could find some like that; but one never knows. I will keep looking.
