the french still life...

This week is a working week in Provence... styling and photographing images... It has not been without it's challenges... rain... and more and more rain has made the locations of our shoot difficult. Normally Carla and I are spoilt... the sun shines and the house is one big studio... but not to be defeated... we found our little corner of light...

After I style up and Carla is shooting I love to take photographs from the sidelines of the works in progress... These cups that I found in our local brocante and these dried hydrangeas from the garden made a pretty pair... This week we are all about creating the still life... shapes, colours, patterns, foliage and flowers.... xv

  3. Love this image, Vicky! Very charming.

The cups remind me on ´Minton´, are they English?

As much as we need the rain this year...but all in 'one go' is just too much!

Best wishes for a few dry and sunny days,
    karin

  5. That's so lovely! I've always grown flowers in teacups. The kids think I'm mad, but now I can tell them I'm artistic!

  8. Une petite suggestion pour les jours de pluie : et si vous créiez des personas pour Firefox à partir de certaines de vos photos? J'aime beaucoup l'atmosphère du blog, et j'aurais plaisir à en retrouver le style sur mon navigateur...

  14. Hi Vicki, Will you be doing a riff on the 17th c. Nature Morte? But please, no dead rabbits. Good luck with the weather. Mary

  16. Bonjour Vicki. Well, I am sure you and Carla overcame challenges and took quite an amazing selection of still life shots. I love the color of the hydrangeas paired with the beautiful old cups. Will you be sharing some shots soon? Bonne fin de journée. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  22. As I've said before, your exercises in restraint enchant me. In the cases of your exquisite photographs less really is more. Sending love, V...

  23. The photo is very nice, I would tend to turn one cup on the side or something. But I love the pattern and the flowers are a great sidebar. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.

  25. A little 'insignificant' like a scalloped edge teacup can make all seem right...reminding me that everything matters. Beautiful as always...
