apache...by request....

That little puppy Apache has all but grown up...all 97 mastiff kilos of him....They say the camera doesn't lie....Yes it does....he looks positively petite in this shot compared to his true size...

He is big, he is beautiful and he is gentle with  'a face that only a mother could love'.... but love him we do...

Autumn has arrived in my corner of the world....the leaves are falling and scattering, that glorious evening light is over far too early and the nights are cooler....The blankets are coming out and I have smelt my first wood fire of the season...

Happy, leafy autumn days......Enjoy them while they last....xv

  2. He looks lovely! Maybe he would like to meet up with Molly and Ralph for a walk in the Alpilles or do a guest spot on Molly's blog sometime!

  3. Oh Vicki,
What a wonderful photograph of your adorable Apache. He looks such a softy !
Autumn has arrived in London as well and, after temperatures of 29C last weekend, it has dropped dramatically to 13C !! My favourite season, probably because our son and daughter-in-law got married in October 2008, and it holds such special memories.
Enjoy open fires and candlelit dinners Vicki. XXXX

  5. What a beautiful big boy. He looks really cuddly but I bet there wouldn't be much room on the bed if he jumped up. My Molly takes up the bed and pushes us out and she weighs only a bit over 30 kgs. He is gorgeous though :)

  8. I am most certainly a big dog person because, as I have heard tell "the bigger the dog, the bigger the heart"! I am curious if you prounounce his name in English (ah-patch-ee) or in French (uh-patch)?

Isn't this weather glorious? I am wearing cashmere! Whoohoo!

    Bon WE!

  9. I am back to enjoy the last warm days of the season. I did miss my "4 legged babies" as I call them while in Africa. Smile could not stop 'smiling" when she first heard our voice. Indeed, her name is Smile. We cannot help but love them, can we?

  11. He looks way too innocent laying there. In about a second he will be in that puddle of water. I love dogs and the looks they give us.

  12. Oh, Vicki, isn't he too funny, laying in the water? And, oh my gosh, how he's grown!! Like teenage boys. Yes, it's Fall...and just so pretty now, even in Texas. It's giving the animals some respite, thankfully. xx's

  14. Hi Vicki, He is one gorgeous guy!! I've been wondering how he was doing and growing. There is nothing like a big loving dog; perhaps a slightly smaller big loving dog (ie., Jones). Be well and enjoy the season. I actually put a blanket on my bed last week here in sunny Southern California. Blessings. Mary

We had a neighbor when I lived in California ... he had a Great Dane and a Mastiff. That Mastiff ruled the house ... actually, he ruled the neighborhood .. great dogs !

  20. Oh your 'little' dog is gorgeous.
We have just finished winter her in Australia and I have to say I'm jealous of the countries that are just about to enter the cooler months. I know I must be the only person who prefers the cooler seasons to the warm ones.x

  21. What a big love!! He's so handsome...I'd love to see our little Miss. Ginger sitting next to him (she's a Doxie), it would be an interesting sight to say the least!
Please give Apache a scratch from us...thanks for showing him off.

  22. If Apache is not the picture of passive contentment, then I don't know what is! Great photo, Vicki. xo

  23. Puppy Lulu is desperate for a puppy play date with Apache. At 8.2 kilos, that will give them a combined puppy weight of 105.2 kgs. Being greeted at the front gate by this duo would give any would-be French house breaker second thoughts. Although in Lulu's case she would lick them into retreat! Apache needs his own TV series, he's a star.

  25. Hi Vicki
Apache has the look of a well loved and cared for dog. I think he also manages to get his own way, he has those charming French eyes!! So far beautiful and sunny and no fires yet.

  27. Ahhh Apache looks sooooooo cute. I had a mastiff who sadly had to be put to sleep a few months ago. Herbie was the kindest most gorgeous dog in the world and I miss him every day... I look forward to seeing more of Apache in the future x
