provence, romance and mystery....

Deborah Lawrenson's gothic style novel, The Lantern, set in Provence is the perfect weekend read.....Her descriptions of Provence are so sensitive and heartfelt... it was as if I was discovering somewhere new and wonderful for the first time, not reading about an area that I know and love so well...Part mystery, part romance...part reality, part make believe...I savoured every word....

Julie at The Provence Post is giving away six copies of The Lantern so visit here and leave a comment to be entered in the draw....xv

  14. I found Deborah through her blog and was captivated by her photos and her story. On the pre-order list and waiting for the publication in the US, I all but snatched it out of the postman's hands. It is indeed captivating with a richness of character development and plot. Her descriptive style is amazing. Bravo, Deborah!

  23. Hi Vicki, I read the book a couple of weeks ago. I just loved the way lavender is a character which runs like a thread through the story. The descriptions of the garden, sculpture, food, all combine to make this my favourite read of Summer 2011. Big hugs, Margie.
