The ipad is a newish toy for me...I haven't spent enough time getting the most out of this sensational invention. There are times when I am totally transfixed by it's capabilities and I forever marvel that the world can be brought to me via a very flat rectangular tablet. Whatever you want to read, see, buy, hear, learn or engage in is at your fingertips....And what about the apps...how good are they?
I have been playing with a few of the freebies...some for the graphics and illustrations like the Liselle Style Book featured above....Trendstop and Fashion Network, trend trackers to get a sense of what's going on fashion wise and StyleBop for inspiration via their polaroid 'toplooks'...
All fun and all free in the app section at your itunes store... A great way to loose track of time....and that's a good thing...right?....Especially on a Sunday... xv

I too have bought an iPad......I must confess that I am so in love with it!!! It does everything I expected it to do and more....much, much more!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been hinting at the need for an ipad and you are not helping;) I am off to itunes to check out liselle. Thankyou.
ReplyDeleteLove my iPad more each day - except for the fact that Blogger are yet to develop an app for posting. Have started to eschew paper magazines & now buy most of my monthly fixes via Zinio on my iTunes account. I know you've talked about this move from traditional publishing to digital print before Vicki, but after some initial reluctance I'm converted. A long plane trip to Darwin went in flash recently 'cos I had 4 new mags waiting for me in my Zinio library & my handbag was 3 kilos lighter!

Bought an Ipad recently and love it. Thanks so much for the "heads up" on the apps you mentioned. I've already downloaded them!
ReplyDeleteI don't yet have an ipad - mostly because I don't have time for the technology I already have!!!
ReplyDeleteI know it is a wonderful device and look forward to trying it out at some point.
I hope you are enjoying a beautiful fall.
Sending my best wishes!
I think that it's a great thing, EVERYDAY Vicki. I am still left open-mouthed when I print something so, when I got my iphone I was just amazed. I've got an app that, when you hold it up to the cookery proramme on TV it scans and in a milli-second the recipe is on your phone !! Modern Technology is a wonderful thing. XXXX
ReplyDeleteTotally agree.... It makes a lady afternoon seen productive, well, almost!
ReplyDeleteI do not have an iPad, but purchased one for my parents (A's it is cheaper in the States) and brought it to them this vacation. I have become familar now, and i am seriously thinking about one for myself.... However, blogging is NOT really possible, and that would be a determining factor for mé.... Time Will tell!
Have a wonderful Sunday!
I think I will head over to the Apple store later, it is only a couple of blocks away. I am also considering the Kindle and the Nook.
ReplyDeleteComments anyone?

We love playing solitaire and other card games and checkers also... All with free apps... Enjoy.. You leaarn more about it everyday... Did you get your manual appt cause I didn't know how to do many things on it and mine came with no directions at all....
ReplyDeleteHave not yet delved into iPad world but have been
ReplyDeletearound them. They are fantastic I am still in love with my iPhone after almost two years.
An iPad is in the future!
Our son just spent the past few days teaching his Dad the way of the ipad.......haven't got my hands on it yet but maybe he will let go of it today. it is very much like a new baby, it goes everywhere with him. Oh well, I have Daisy-lol! Love it when apps are shared and these sound fabulous. Yes, September is too long..........will chat this week. My turn. Much love XO
ReplyDeleteLove my iPad, Vicki. It never leaves me alone, and I haven't taken the time either to fully learn everything that it can do, but I know one thing for sure; I love it!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday.

I cannot wait to get one. Love seeing these through your eyes Vicki. I depend on you to keep us on top of the latest trends.

I love my iPad, but only use it for writing. Thanks for reminding me of those free apps. I may just have to look into them. Hoping you're having a lovely Sunday, Vicki.
ReplyDeleteHow do you like the keyboard? I tried typing on an ipad once and gave up in frustration. If my typing keyboard isn't grippy and clackety, I don't feel like I'm writing at all!
ReplyDelete(maybe my fingers are just used to yanking on harp strings - if there's no "work" in making a sound or typing a word, it's not just worth it!)
I blame it on my iPad for not blogging so often lately!...I am totally obsessed with mine ,and absorbed by what it offers.allso switched over to iPhone.
ReplyDeletePlease keep us up to date with Interesting APS...I can highly recommend
MAILSHOT PRO Ap for keeping your contacts in easy to mail to groups...
Would love to know of links to order French magazines online if you know please? Like Campagne etc.
Have a good week

I have been so on the fence with getting an ipad... I have an iphone, and I hate that I can't see any of the flash sites... Does that bother you? Not being able to see the slideshows, etc? I hear the new blackberry version allows flash and is good, too. I just can't decide so I stay in the land of limbo. :/

... all good info ... congrats on your step into new territory ... I would like one around Christmas and take the little courses at the Apple Store ... how do you find out about all the apps? I keep reading about them and forget to write them down.
ReplyDeletevicki, like you, i'm still trying to figure out the wonderful world of the ipad. all i know is that hours can pass by and i'm deep into the abyss of the internet and how splendid it looks on this vibrantly clear screen! thank you for the app suggestions.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, but a few minutes can turn into a few hours... Actually, when I first got mine I loved it, but the longer I have had it, the more it irritates me for its shortfalls. Which just goes to show how spoilt we are all getting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips on those apps. I love my iPad, but mine is mostly loaded up with games and colouring applications!.. It is the best thing ever invented to keep the kids (and me!) happiliy occupied at Dr's waiting rooms, unexpected delays at airports and boring meetings. I use mine to Skype family overseas too - much cheaper than using the phone and you aren't tied to the computer while talking.

Love. Love. Love my iPad. It takes awhile to maximize usage. It's a fantastic reader. Capturing images is the best. Blog posting is still iffy. I've begun using Notepad to compose and the copying and pasting.. And, uploading photos to my blog still requires the laptop.
ReplyDeleteThe convenience for travel-- dual cellular and WiFi is super. I actually handed the gate agent my iPad image instead of a paper boarding pass last time I traveled.
FaceTime alone makes it worth the investment.
I've had my iPad for a while now but to be honest I don't think I fully understand it's capabilities and therefore do not use it to it's maximum potential. Perhaps I need a few lessons from my teenagers? x
ReplyDeleteI was considering buying one but after borrowing my husbands I find it is great for reading blogs etc but find it won't open certain sites because it won't use flash. Also I agree with Millie I can't seem to use it for blogging as no good blogger so app far unless anybody knows of one.
ReplyDeleteI am addicted to iPad Apps Vicki and these are new to me. I am very excited and off to peruse right now!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes...
Jeanne xx
PS.. Have you discovered FLIPBOARD yet? Makes life so much easier by keeping track of all your reading interests.
ReplyDeleteCheck out STELLA'S WORLD...it is fun to browse.
The CONDE NAST TRAVELLER series are great too...I have enjoyed the one for Paris.
:)
I think I'm the last person on earth without one! But when I get one, I'll be sure to check all those apps out. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to find the time to waste. ;)
