Do you hate the way you look in photos? I do, except when my friend, the talented photographer Carla Couson is behind the camera. She has a way with people; she has a way of making you relax and of not pulling those squidgy faces or closing your eyes at exactly the wrong moment. Carla makes having a portrait taken so much fun and she knows what we women care about..the hair, the right make-up, the right setting and most importantly she knows about light. The light must be just right - it must be kind and it must be gentle - and that is where she excels.
If you are planning a trip to Paris and you want professional photographs of you and your family against unforgettable backdrops then contact Carla. The images she takes are fine art portraits that will be shot in black and white, printed on exhibition quality archival paper and signed by her...You will not only love spending time with her but together you will create your own special artwork and take home memories to cherish forever.
She and I have worked together for many years and shot everything from markets to metro stations but my favourite images of all are her portraits. She has captured my children so beautifully that I can never look at these photographs without misty eyes...The one above is of my 'gorgeous boy' Paddy and if you knew him you would recognise that little chuckle and that tilt of the head as 'him'.
If you would like to have your portrait, or those of your family, taken in Paris (Italy and Australia are also possible...like me she is always on the move...) then email Carla.....xv

You first introduced me to Carla's beautiful work!! Like you, I never like any photos of myself. I'm sure Carla would change all that.. How handsome is your adorable son!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo for this post...I would need Carla for sure...I don't photograph well at all! Good to visit you Vicki and happy weekend! x
ReplyDeleteI do hate most of my photos....
ReplyDeleteit is of great interest to me though that talented photographer's can shoot to enhance the positive and detract from the negative.
It's would be fun to have a professional like Carla do a photo session.
Beautiful work! That portrait of your son is amazing. I would love to have Carla take professional photos of me and my harp.

When my son is that age, I would love to have a gorgeous photo like this of him! Your son is so handsome. Oh, yes....and the photographer I'm sure is fabulous too.
ReplyDeleteVicki,
ReplyDeleteI had Carla take some portraits of the family and I on our trip to Paris at Christmas. The day was simply heaven and Carla is divine - needless to say the pictures are beautiful and are framed and gracing the walls at home right now. Love everything Carla does...
Sx
p.s hope all is well with you in your beautiful world...
Is that your handsome son Vicki? He's just oozing with charm and sophistication.

Oh, I recognise your gorgeous boy Paddy from your book. Carla is gifted {though with this particular subject, I suspect it would be hard to take a poor photograph!} What a smile, Vicki.
ReplyDeleteAdore Carla's photography, which you introduced so many of us to. She is amazing and I visit her site from time to time. One additional charming item is that she left me a sweet comment on a little cooking blog I had set up merely to participate in a cooking club. She made my day - it was as if a celebrity came by for a visit and I was very touched. I imagine she is simply that type of human, which combined with her skill in photography...makes her one to visit. Great post.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous picture. Your son is so handsome and just seems like sunshine! xo
ReplyDeleteCarla's photos are always amazing - and your boy is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell, first, I have to say that I love this portrait of your son--so handsome and so charming. My favorite thing about it is that it captures him in motion rather than just sitting still. The frame is filled with life and laughter. I also love that it has a timeless quality; he's dressed formally as he would be in a vintage photo, but he's loosening his tie, so it's got a wonderful contemporary edge--perfect! Carla is clearly a uniquely gifted photographer, and your Paddy is clearly a wonderful young man. xoxo Gigi
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that! Beautiful portrait!
ReplyDeleteShe is gifted indeed! I would not mind at all to have her take a portrait of our family once upon a time in Paris!!!
My friend recently bought me "paris tango" as a gift! She didn't even know that I'm a follower Carla's blog & just how much I love her photographs. She just bought it for me because she knows how much I love Paris. I'm half way through it already & loving it immensely!!

Her work is truly amazing x
ReplyDeleteCarla has good subjects to work with in your tribe, Vicki. I hate having my photograph taken. Having Carla shoot it however, would be a dream. And light is always so important in photographs. Thank heavens we have the digital age when we can edit all the horrible photos away! I have to get some shots done for the publishers for my book but I don't know if Carla would be in Australia. I shall visit her wonderful Blog soon. As a previous poster said, 'she is an artist.' xx
ReplyDeleteDear Vicki,
ReplyDeleteCarla's work is gorgeous or maybe the fella here is gorgeous which always helps! We love fresh candid photography and she gets the award! We're going to look her up!
Have a rested day!
