Wow, is that your house?? That is absolutely beautiful. Are the roses planted in the ground or in pots? I've always wanted a rose vine but I'm limited as to what I can grow here in Arizona. They can grow, it would just take a lot of care. Thanks for sharing the beauty in your part of the world.
Hi Vicki, What a gracious and flower-laden doorway. I don't have any roses, always thought I couldn't grow them, maybe I should try? Ok, I will. Have a great weeknd!
My rose bushes look so lush and healthy although they haven't started to bloom yet--Right now, here on the prairie, we're in peony season, although regretfully I have none in my garden.
yes, it would seem there is something in the southern french air this year favouring the roses. on our humble terrasse the roses that last year wouldn't start (I bought them the autumn before in Courson) are giving new blooms every day. hope it goes on! I love roses - but then I love practically all flowers ;-) I wish yours will delight you the whole summer!
No kidding, this is one lusciously decorated door. Yes, I love smelling roses, especially the really nice scented ones. A feast for the eyes, thank you Vicki!
They are so Beautiful! They remind me of big snow balls. We have some on a small hill near us and it looks like a ski slope! Amazing! God's art is untouchable... xoxo's Have a peaceful week-end!
Hi Vicki, I just realized I misspelled your name on my visits. Gave me a chance to come back and view your beautiful roses once again. Happy weekend (once again too ;) ~Tracie
I'm stoppin' and smellin'..... in a break between packing boxes. Thank you for all your lovely supportive comments Vicki, during my house build. I have so appreciated your support and encouragement. A-M xx
Too, too beautiful Vicki! Is there any chance that Mr. FF may be totally overcome with this glorious scene, sweep you into his strong, yet gentle arms & carry you up the stairs & through the front door like a trembling new bride? (Just practicing my Mills & Boon lingo for that book we're supposed to be co-writing so we can become instant millionaires!!) Have a magical weekend. Millie ^_^
The whole side of our house is draped in old fashioned climbing roses...I breathe in their beauty and scent every time I walk by. Beautiful doorway...so totally envious. Have a splendid weekend!
Thank you, Vicki--I canalmost smell them: I'm going to go right out to my garden and smell mine. Roses are gifts sent to remind me of all of nature's gifts. Have a wonderful week-end. (It is gorgeous here in So.California, too). Mary
Vicki, are your gorgeous roses climbing on a trellis or are they the grimpante kind? My neighbor is always on me about not letting vines and flowers grow on the facade stones (bad for the stones, etc.). But yours are so gorgeous I have to give it another try. Anyway, bon weekend to you!
So stunning! I have some Lady Banks Roses that were as full, but their bloom life was so short. It is so amazing to watch the fruits of your labours grow... Enjoy and drink in the beauty! Bonne week-end, Nathalie
dear vicki...how DELECTABLE THEY LOOK..GORGEOUS..BEAUTIFUL..& quite calming..(is that a word which would pertain to a rose?? maybe..then again..maybe NOT??)...
I am very jealous...my garden has gone to the dry DUST BIN!! (still NO rain in melbourne ..unlike other parts of oz...)..dry dry and they predict another wave of EL NINO (or is it AL NINO...WHATEVER)...just MORE DRY WEATHER...
Wow! Thank you for this vision of lovliness. So so gorgeous and a breath of fresh air. Been working all week in my studio and didnt get a chance to get out. Thanks for bringing the flowers indoors to me. Deb. You have a great weekend too!
Oh I could faint from this level of beauty. You are singing my heartsong right here! Gorgeous!! I hope your weekend was everything you hoped it would be! I'm so far behind on visiting, I've been kept so much busier than I like lately. xo Isa
I have to join others - this is so beautiful picture! Do you know the name of this rose? I was also simply enchanted with pictures published by Joni about your home, especially the garden pathway with roses attracted me much. I´d like to know more about rose varieties grown there and generally about popular varieties grown in Provence as well. Thanks.
I have never seen the countryside look as marvelous as it does at the moment. Returning home from Paris last Friday we were blown away by blooms we have never even noticed before. The sun is shining, it's warm and has been for days now but I have just had grass seed sown and have to keep getting the hose pipe out. There's always a downside :(
You are killing me with the rose pics. Here in NYC I just get to go to my local community garden or the Brooklyn Botanical Garden or the New York Botanical Gardens. They are so gorgeous right now but I miss being able to step outside every so often to take in the spring spectacle at my leisure.
Those roses are like a dream, and one reason I sometimes wish I lived in a climate more amenable to growing big lush roses and clematis and peonies and wisteria. You have created the perfect home!
They look gorgeous, I also love the vasques!
ReplyDeleteI am just visited a friend who works at a local chateau, the roses there are gorgeous so I am hoping to take some photos when I visit again next week.
Enjoy the long weekend.
