Your response to my quest for 'true love' fragrances is wonderful....I am loving reading everybody's favourites here and by way of email...and trust me this has not been easy...our internet and telephone lines have gone awol and trying to reinstate them is a task for the truly committed....French technicians, although cute, are not always reliable....So.... I have been camped out in the local internet cafe in St Rémy de Provence....which isn't all bad....delicious tea and cute French surroundings...I am not really complaining...although I am a girl who lives for her internet...shocking admission...but the sooner it flows the happier I will be..
This weekend...bandwidth permitting... I will be able to upload your 'true love fragrances to SHOP FRENCH ESSENCE... and we can all discover something new and luscious to try...
Have a wonderful weekend... You are the best readers a girl could have and I truly value each and every comment... so a million times thank you... and please don't stop with the 'true love' fragrances... xv

Lovely image with the votives and books. So inviting. My favorite fragrance is Chanel No. 19, although Chanel No. 5 is starting to win me over..

Vicki, if I had known I would have invited you over to Arles for lunch and internet access. :)
ReplyDeleteHang in there and I hope that you aren't driving to and from the internet café in this storm! Your readers would not want you to risk your life for perfume advice...ok, maybe they would, but please don't!
And you, beautiful Vicki, create such a wonderful place for us girls to gather and talk! Thank you. Have a wonderfully scented weekend!
ReplyDeleteNice Blog. Posts too. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteV,
ReplyDeleteSorry I'm late but I am very partial to L'ete en Douce. My daughter bought it at my favorite little parfumerie in the Marais, L'artisan Parfumer. But of course Chanel #5 still holds a place of honor on my parfum tray.
Bon weekend dear V,
V
Hi Vicki, I wish I could participate in this super discussion--very unfortunately, I'm allergic to most perfumes. These are great posts, nonetheless. Mary
ReplyDeleteVicki, I hope you have internet soon! I know that feeling when it goes down, although your cafe sounds like a slice of heaven! Looking forward to reading all those responses!

Have been smitten for YEARS by the old old old Quelques Fleur. I never tire of it. But now must try your Gardenia Passion by AG. Gardenia is my favorite fragrance for the home.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am weak in the knees for the sconce in your new header! Lord, have MERCY!
ReplyDeleteI wear MARC JACOBS scent DAISY........and because of you I now spray and walk through!
ReplyDeleteI too agree being without our e-mail is a bit of a mood swing!Thank goodness you can hang out in a cafe.It wouldnot be the same here in the states.Just not nearly as gorgeous!
Can't wait to see everyone's favorites. So sorry about your internet access - always so very inconvenient!!

Jessica McClintock is my absolute favourite. It is sweet and feminine. Thanks for asking. I do love your blog!
ReplyDeleteOh best of luck with the internet issues ... well, Jicky parfum is my current favorite ... Other current favorites are Jo Malone 154, Diorissimo, Ninfeo Mio and always have loved Penhaligons Blenheim Bouquet ... love your blog and fun interaction.
ReplyDeleteVicki! I just came across your blog not to long ago. I adore it! It brings back so many memories of my grandmother and my family! I was wondering if you might consider writing about French weddings? Sadly, I don't have my grandmother around anymore to ask...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stories!I look forward to reading them every morning!
Vicki,
ReplyDeleteI do hope all will be up and running very soon for you!
Thank you again for the lovely post.
Take care,
- Irina
Ahhh Vicki...for me the fragrance of all time is "So Pretty" by Cartier. I always receive compliments when wearing this beautiful, light, floral fragrance. But, 2nd is Dior's J'adore. I am completely in awe of the new site living4media, it's beautifully & professionally presented and very easy to navigate. Your styling work is beautiful, as is every single thing you do. I love love love your restraint.

HI Vicki, Love love love your blog. For home fragrance, I never get tired of the scent "bamboo" by Nest Fragrances. The candle is divine & now they have diffusers, liquid soaps & bar soaps! If they had it in a perfume, I would wear it. I sell them all here at my shop perch. here in New Orleans and I can't keep it in stock!
ReplyDeleteKeep writing! We love you.

p.s. my family is going to paris for our Thanksgiving holiday. Your blog is my bible for the trip!
That happens to us once in awhile, too, in Carmel-by-the-Seas. A good storm and no electricity/Internet--once for 3 days.
ReplyDeleteMy fave fragrances are Tiffany's signature brand and Chanel's Chance...for a really crazy reason.
Dad died two years ago and he just adored his gorgeous dog that he'd rescued from another state's animal shelter. They took walks each dawn at a fabulous Natl Park near his home; and he'd named him 'Chance' because Dad had been this charming canine's last one. I just like to see the bottle with that name reminding me of Dad.
We can't have you without internet! I hope that gets fixed. :/
ReplyDeleteThis is going to sound strange, but I have a a new love and it's huge. I am totally mad for linnea's lights 'cashmere' candle... it isn't a perfume, but it should be. I love it so much that I have one in my car... (I don't light it, but it sits in the console and perfumes my car)and sometimes... i admit, I rub my finger on the candle and then on my wrists! LOL. true story.

What a pretty post! And a lovely blog as well. You have our Follow!
ReplyDeleteI may do a blog post about this story! About twenty years ago, my husband and I decided to do an experiment to find out what fragrances would be our favorites on each other! It was completely "blind" (and sometimes I would wear the same one two days in a row to really test!)
ReplyDeleteHe identified his favorite pretty quickly; it was "Samsara" by Guerlain! And I love it too!
It took me a while longer, and about three weeks into it; we were traveling and were in London at one of my favorite places on earth: "Anabel's" the fabulous club for dinner and dancing. He came out of the men's room smelling absolutely divine! I said, "What is that scent?" He said, "I don't have any idea, I just splashed on what was in the men's room!"
I sent him right back in; and that is is how we found "Habit Rouge" also by Guerlain! Heavenly!
Maybe it is time to do again! It is fun and romantic!! And he is my "true love"!
I'm partial to either L'eau d'Issey (Issey Miyake) or Jo Malone (I blend Lime Basil & Mandarin with the Pomegranate Noir – it's delicious!).
