The French love the beach and they are good at it. They know how to make a day at the beach comfortable, relaxed and chilled. Whether it is the more chi chi clubs on the Cote d'Azur or this remote stretch of beach in western Corsica, the French have it wired. The beach club not only looks heavenly, it is sublime. The attention to detail with the decor and comfort makes even the most reluctant sun worshipper happy. At this beach club the furniture is made from reclaimed driftwood and the sun beds are oversized cushions arranged for lounging. Under the shade cover of olive and cork trees the tables are laid for lunch and finished with wildflowers from the maquis. No fast food here, lunch is the day's catch with vegetables and salad from their own potager.....
Have a wonderful weekend...I shall kiss Corsica goodbye tonight and brave the ferry once more for Marseille....xv

This looks like the perfect way to spend a day. Maybe if I click my heels together 3 times and close my eyes I'll end up there! Have a lovely weekend. xo

You are so right! The French do love the beach and they do it with flair!
ReplyDeleteThe hardest part about going to a beach like this, would be leaving. The simplicity is what makes it all so unique.
ReplyDeletewow, these are so cool! I especially love the purple one. Now you have made me want to get to Corsica even more - I didn't even know that was possible. :) Hope you had a wonderful trip and that the ferry rides weren't too horrible!
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks AMAZING. I'm usually not a beach person but I so want to go there!!
ReplyDeleteAhhh!!! Bliss!! Enough said.
ReplyDeleteI love how they use natural items to make comfy seating and relaxing areas. Much more attractive than our standard brightly-colored beach umbrellas (altho I do love the look of all those umbrellas lined up in a row) Really beautiful pictures! Sounds like you're having a wonderful time! ~Leena~
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds completely heavenly...
ReplyDeleteOh my Vicki, this beach looks amazing! I would never want to leave... I thought we had all the best beaches here in Oz ;)!

ReplyDeleteOh Vicki,
ReplyDeleteThis water looks like an OASIS we would love to dive into...Louisiana is pushing into the high 90's with 100 percent humidity. Sometimes you just need a watering hole! Love your post and beautiful pictures!
Have a Restful fabulous weekend!

Bon retour à Marseille, la merveille
ReplyDeleteI love the furniture, how amazing, I apparently have not been going to the right beaches! I need to find these!
ReplyDeleteThose wooden beach chairs in the first photo are WONDERFUL! My brother is a wood worker and has made me some amazing benches from splits of cedar, all rugged and bark-covered and perfect for plunking in the garden to watch the flowers bloom (and the weeds grow...).
ReplyDeleteWhat is the shortest way to get there? I'll be thinking of this al weekend...
ReplyDeleteThis is absolute heaven...I so want to be there now....I hope you are enjoying yourself in a grand fashion! xo
ReplyDeleteBeing back from my own trip to berlin I realized that you as well have been on the road.... will work my way through your letters!!!

So beautiful in its natural state....which is why I love it. Would be happy to plunk myself down in one of those awesome chairs at the waters edge with a good book and pass the day without a word!
