I'll never forget the Parisian sight of a gorgeous, distinguished French businessman in a camel-colored suit roaring toward me on his velib, tie flying behind him, briefcase over his shoulder, the cloud of cologne he left in his wake...
I've often wondered if I could hook up a little cart to the back of a velib and haul my harp around Paris to play for gigs. When I move to Paris, that is. (notice I said "when"...)
Leave it to the Parisians to use such an efficient an aerobic medium for transport. I find it interesting that so many French advertisements or services have the noun and the word "et moi" attached. "Mon vélib et moi" par exemple. Such a personal, egotistical appeal.
Looking forward to seeing the city of lights from a velibs point of view!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a peaceful start to the week.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely way to get to work, biking through the street in the pretty Paris spring sunlight. I'll pretend that's me during my commute this AM.
