And her favourite shop is in Tarascon! My favourite shop is also in Tarascon, but as I don't have a horse, its the local grocery shop.....http://provencecalling.com/uncategorized/my-local-shop/
ReplyDeleteDear Vicki,
ReplyDeleteInes is one of my favorite Parisian icons. A few weeks ago I saw a wonderful docu on TV about her! She is really adorable and chique and "une femme distinguée". I like her a lot!

Dear vicki,
ReplyDeletei suppose you already know that her very full and lengthy legal name is "Inès Marie Lætitia Églantine Isabelle de Seignard de La Fressange".
that's a load of names for a woman who weighs 110 pounds.... a name for (at most, depending on how you count them) every 15 pounds of Ines.
My own mother's rather the same in that particular way....5 names (she had 3 before being adopted and later married)....one for every 20 of her own 100 or so pounds.
Did you know that Lagerfeld got into a big spat with Fressange (they parted ways quite dramatically) because she agreed to pose for "Marianne"? (for those who don't know, this is the emblematic representation of French identity...struck on coins, etc...and the model changes every so often). She stopped working with Chanel at that time.
Catherine Deneuve was "Marianne" throughout the last half of the eighties, having previous been the "face" of Chanel in the late 70's. Perhaps Massah Lagerfeld wasn't on the scene at the time, or perhaps even he knows, when picking his catfights, whom to be careful of picking them with.
amusedly,

ReplyDeleteHer photo exudes loveliness.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved her, from the moment she signed on with Chanel in the early '80s to the present. I just got notice from Amazon that my book has shipped this morning. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteInes de la Fressange, her name is chic,so is she. Loved the post+can't wait to get her book. Thanks V. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteHi Vicki, Ines has such presence, yes she is definitely at peace with herself--isn't that the goal for all of us? Loved all of you "Bien Dans Sa Peau" posts.
ReplyDeleteAny new thoughts emerging re that topic? Have a great week---Mary
Vicki, the book is cute-looking. I just checked out a video on Amazon.com, but too cute a la Glamour magazine circa 1985. I would have expected a more dignified book from Ines. I'll wait for this one to go on remainder.
ReplyDeleteInes is so chic and I cannot believe how much her daughter looks like her! Have a great week, Vicki! xo
ReplyDeleteOh, I definitely will order the book. I love secrets. Especially the secrets of French women.
ReplyDeleteShe is the epitome of chic...I am going to read this book.
ReplyDeleteThank you Vicki!
... Oh OUI !!! .... I've had it on order ... can't wait ... she is something else, isn't she. Bonjour .. Karen
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, she is beautiful and such an inspiration. Can't wait to read her book.
ReplyDeleteOooi,intriguing woman! Very nice blog.
ReplyDeleteOh, dear. And here I am eating a bagel with salmon and cream cheese for lunch.
ReplyDeleteOh, I haven't heard of her so I'll definitely have to take a peek and oogle at her natural beauty and effortless style that is obvious just from the snashot of her.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore Ines!
ReplyDeleteShe has all I admire in a woman, class, style, warmth and a unpretentious, timeless beauty!
A few years ago I saw a spread in a magazine of her place in Paris, it was wonderful!
Not to mention she is very good friends with the OTHER chicest woman in France, Princess Caroline of Monaco or HRH as she is known in Germany (a title that outranks her title in Monaco since she married Prince Ernst August)...
ReplyDeleteI just love her and her style. Can't wait to get my copy!!
ReplyDeleteI have just ordered the book and can't wait to read. Perhaps you should take commission. :) x
ReplyDeleteInspiring! What a perfect gift book too.
ReplyDeletei've added this book to the top of my birthday wish list. always love any recommendations from you ~ bisous, melissa
ReplyDeleteInes was Karl Lagerfeld's favourite muse back in the 80's, & at 53 she's still a cool chic. It's just not fair, I'd love to be someone's muse. Any chance you could do some research Vicki & do a post on How To Move To France & Become A Muse In 6 Easy Steps.
ReplyDeleteMillie x
i wear her perfume!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely read.
ReplyDeleteI love and admire her as well. In particular her pink house of course! I shall definitely get this book. Pleased to report I don't wear the Little Kitty nightdress but not sure if I'd fall into the 'too fat' category. Hopefully Ines will straighten me out a little! Enjoy your week and thanks for the Ines inspiration. xx
ReplyDeleteElle est et restera toujours si belle...
ReplyDeletebisous
Hi Vicki
ReplyDeleteShe is certainly a gorgeous woman.. I love this shot.. fabulous colours and feel to it... Have a great week and thanks for the blog birthday wishes.. ciao xxx Julie
She is so gorgeous. It looks like a fun book! xxoo
ReplyDeleteShe is stunning! I would love to read what she has to say about being stylish! X
ReplyDeleteShe really is very chic and understated and always seems to stay "above the fray" so shes got something going on right....she is someone whose advice I would seek and pay attention to compared to some "legend in their own minds" celebs who have written self help books and such...I look forward to hearing and seeing more of this book.
ReplyDeleteSounds lovely! Have a gorgeous day, Kellie xx
ReplyDeleteI've admired her for at least 20 years--can't wait for my book to arrive.
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and so glad I did, 53 and looking as amazing as Ines does gives me hope! Such a beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteShe makes it all seem so effortless.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
Such a confident beauty ~ but then perhaps that is part of what beauty actually is???
ReplyDeleteI have admired Ines forever...she epitomizes class, style, and grace. Thank you for sharing such an amazing photo.
ReplyDeleteDear Vicki, Thanks for sharing this story and photos - I found it inspirational to introduce some changes in my own garment and eating habits :)
ReplyDeleteshe is truly very chic and so French! she isn't even exactly beautiful looking so much as French looking! I mean she is beautiful of course but her class sort of transcends it
ReplyDeleteJ'adore Ines and so pleased she doesn't use (or like) botox.
