My bedroom is one of those rooms that I don't get to spend enough time in. I sometimes wish I could hide in there all day...be lazy..forget the jobs and the responsibilities of the farm and secret myself away with a favoured novel, an endless pot of green tea and the latest magazines.
Wouldn't that be bliss? xv

I think you need to just "do it" ... sometimes curling up with a great book and a pot of tea... is just what is needed to re-energize...HHL
ReplyDeletemy bedroom is my sanctuary.
ReplyDeletebut, if i were on a farm.....
i wouldn't spend as much time as i do in my cave!
xx
Yes, this would be so blissful. I think I did this one day this year. Only one day! I declared myself "sick" even though I wasn't and disappeared into my room. However, my room is turning out to be the last room in my house that is really decorated well. It needs to be my turn soon to really plan out a beautiful room...something like yours!!
ReplyDeleteoh yes!!
ReplyDeleteI am in the process of re doing my bedroom and the guest bedroom... number one criteria, must be cosy so I can lounge around all day!

That little glimpse is enough to makes me want to hide away in there with you! Lovely!!
ReplyDeleteI love this photo, Vicki! I also love how you've turned "secret" into a verb! Or is that an Australian thing? Anyway, I love it! I don't know if you heard, but I was in a serious car accident and I have had to secret myself away until my broken bones heal. In the meantime, I wanted to check in to see if you received your copy of "Bonjour,Happiness!" My teenage assistant sent it (and wrote the card) since I'm having trouble with writing with a cast on my right hand. (Luckily, I can type left-handed!) Sending you love and thanks for all your beautiful inspiration! xo Jamie
ReplyDeleteYour home always inspires me so much, Vicki. And if I had a bedroom like that I don't think that I ever would leave!
ReplyDeleteVraiment une très jolie chambre, pas étonnant que vous aimez y lire les magazines et vous reposez des heures.
ReplyDeleteIt would be totally blissful - especially in a beautiful corner like that. Having all six kids home on school holidays means that I am finding the need to escape occasionally from the constant "Muuummmm.." Unfortunately my bedroom is the first place they come looking!

Oh, yes--a day surrounded by books, a lady's maid to bring me tea and treats, maybe a wonderful home-made soup for dinner and to end the day surrounded by those I love--divine.
ReplyDeleteThat would be TOTAL bliss! I feel the same way about my bedroom...I love it.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Oh, that would be amazing, Vicky!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming bedroom you have!
My bedroom is my favorite place at home.... no place is more comfortable than my bed.
You know what? Take a day when you can do just what you've described above. Take a day off... let everything go and go encounter you soul. Life is too short to never take a day for ourselves and do absolutely nothing.

Perfect bliss...I'm tempted to go hide out in my bedroom today. I just need a "do not disturb" sign for my door.
ReplyDeleteYour room is lovely! I can see why you wouldn't want to leave.

ReplyDeleteAah yes...........days to do nothing but lay around in bed. Sounds divine. XO
ReplyDeleteThat is one gorgeous bedroom, Vicki. If it were mine, I would find a way to spend an entire day in it, at least once every two weeks.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you Sistah+love your bedroom screen. xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
ReplyDeleteYes, in a bedroom like that, it would be bliss! I actually took a day like that on Sunday - slept late, drank tea in bed, read, napped...I love my bedroom!
ReplyDeleteAha, The FRENCH BEDROOM, a beautiful one at that, would be a perfect place to read The Paris Wife if you haven't already read it. Love reading your blog and also My French Life and French Essence...

it was heavenly.... thanks for the wonderful reminder xx
Bliss indeed! At least for a day, then one can feel refreshed to go back into the world and resume the daily routine. What a lovely corner you have in your bedroom to read and reflect.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely dreamy. Would love to dive into my magazines and tear out inspirational pages but I must wait until a vacation comes my way. Soon...
ReplyDeleteHow stunning!
ReplyDeleteAlmost looks too beautiful to be real...you sure you haven't dreamed it up?
It appears the perfect place to be ensconced just as you describe.
Cheers and best, Alcira

Yes it would! Every now and then I have to confess when I get sick I actually dont' mind anymore because it keeps me confined to my room, with the doors closed (because of course I dont' want anyone getting sick....) and I actually revel in the peace, silence and relaxation of it all. Sad that it takes getting sick for me to really enjoy my room, isn't it! Seems like I have lots of company......beautiful room you have!
ReplyDeleteQuelle belle chambre à coucher!
ReplyDeleteLast night I started reading Les cinq personnes que j'ai rencontrées là-haut. I haven't given the French side of my brain much attention over the past three years, so I've decided to read the French version instead of the English one.

That screen is simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteI grant you permission to take a day, or at least part of a day, to lounge in bed with a book or two and tea. Consider it a vacation day. A luxury. All your responsibilities will still be there....
ReplyDeleteadore...adore...adore!!
ReplyDeleteJeanne xx
Your dressing table is just the most beautiful piece of furniture! A day in bed with good book and room service of course would be delightful!
ReplyDeleteYes, a treasured novel in bed all day would be bliss! I adore your blog!

ReplyDeleteOh I am thinking of the same exact thing,
I want a couple of days in my room
reading a book and watching movies wearing pajamas.
It does sound like bliss {and I love those flowers}. I have such thoughts at the back of my mind, too. With the extra-extra long Easter weekend ahead, I just might do it. Wishing you a lovely day, Vicki.
